THE COUNTRYSIDE IS AUTMUN CLAD!

Back in Meldreth and it was hard to believe, the U.K was having an Indian summer.

The Cottage with home made jam to be sold!

This trip I didn’t even feel the cold. The weather, the colors and of course the company made everything superb.

We decided that our outing would be to Anglesey Abbey. You have « been there before » when the lily of the valley was in bloom and the trees where in their Springtime clothes. Now we were in Autumn. What is delightful about these gardens that there are so many little gardens making up a whole.

The medieval priory which is remodeled into a 20th century home always makes me feel good. It’s not too large nor shattering and if heated with a big family it must be lovely to live in with such beautiful gardens around.

I’ll say no more and just let you enjoy the colors as I did, as we did……

Looking Back

After lunch we drove onto another walk. - Ely - Wicken. I had never been there before but suddenly we were in Holland.
It is the National Trust's oldest nature reserve, and England's most famous fen.

Highland Cattle - very big

Another windmill

Wicken Fen, one of Europe's most important wetlands, supports an abundance of wildlife. There are more than 8,500 species, including a spectacular array of plants, birds and dragonflies.

The raised boardwalk and lush grass droves allow easy access to a lost landscape of flowering meadows, sedge and reedbeds, where you can encounter rarities such as hen harriers, water voles and bitterns.

Wicken Fen Vision, an ambitious landscape-scale conservation project, is opening up new areas of land to explore. The grazing herds of Highland cattle and Konik ponies are helping to create a diverse range of new habitats.

It was enchanting as you can see. We didn’t see the ponies nor any birds. I guess there is a lot to explore. Another time?

How do I dare forget Cambridge...I nearly did, but here you are.
