When I first came across Genvieve Asse’s work in the permanent collection at Beaubourg, it reminded me a little of Mondrian whom I like so much (see APPRECIATING A MINIMALISTIC APPROACH - OH SO ME Giorgio Morandi - Bruxelles - 12th June) The Kitchen 1946-47 Composition at the window 19 As far as I know she is still alive and working even at 90. One of the "grande dame" of French painting. A retrospective of work she had donated to the Beaubourg centre was on my list and luckily I checked the list this week as it will be finishing in a few days.
