So with a stomach which was replete for a little while, I climbed up the stairs again to wander through the permanent collection.

Wilhelm Von Kobell (1766-1855) On Gaisalm 1828 |
I looked at the list of artists and knew at once, that quite a few would be missed. Joseph Beuys for one - I would just stroll through the galleries starting with the 19th century but not stopping unless a picture stopped me…..
I started walking faster. These are not my periods - in art. 19th century or even go back a century. It starts for me at the beginning of the 20th. I jumped to after 1945….even then, looking for something new was not easy……

The basic idea behind this work is its dynamic energy. A vortex which sucks up what it seizes down in the depths before bringing it back to the surface....and I was now back on the surface.....
I was really hungry - so onto real food until tomorrow.
Looking at the small catalogue I had bought showed a few paintings which perhaps would have inspired me. After "The Blue Rider" and the DIX/Beckmann, perhaps I did not give justice to the collection. How could you after what I had seen today?
