After 25 years as a museum, it was time to renovate the Picasso site. The « Hotel » as we call it, has quite a history. It is probably, as Bruno Foucart wrote in 1985, (he is an art historian of 19th century architecture) “the grandest, most extraordinary, if not the most extravagant, of the Parisian houses of the 17th century”. However, paradoxically, before the place was entrusted to the museum, it was rarely “inhabited”, but instead leased out to various private individuals, prestigious hosts and institutions. I discovered the work of Françoise Mussel when I was at «La Piscine» a few weeks ago. Unfortunately there is very little I can find about the sculpter on Internet and there was very little about her at «La Piscine». One thing that really struck me though was the likeness with Nikki’s work. There are just a few of her sculptures here along with some extra photos I took of my daughter’s small display for friends on Sunday evning. F.M. must certainly be successful to exhibit in such a museum. How I hope that Nicky will have the chance to do the same
