LITTLE CAR YOU SAVED ME

You can’t go far in this country without coming across a church, an abbey or a chateau. The season has not started yet and some of the larger Abbey are for some reason or another locked and others smaller and even older like Saint Pierre in Le Petit Pressigny which are open.

Saint Pierre but soon in ruins
I started walking toward a forest and then turned back. This is something that I have learnt about myself over the three weeks I have been here. Walking around villages, along rivers, beaches is quite an enjoyable occupation. I seem to be going somewhere. Walking in the woods is really not something I enjoy at all. Perhaps when I am with someone. Alone there seems to be no purpose to such a trot.

So I had nearly exhausted the region. 1136 kilometres later in a little over two weeks it was time to return my little car. In actual fact it is not due to be returned until tomorrow but just driving around and going nowhere in particular is becoming tiring. I hadn’t seen the famous Brenne Lakes or heard the birds singing who lived there. I had set out to go there twice but somehow it didn’t happen. Many of those who have, speak of how low the water is - that is sad. There were many other medieval museums too but no, I have now had my dose of this period.

However, I’ll come back to visit the chateaux. Perhaps not the Valley but some of those off the beaten track....

Little car - you saved me.

Paris is calling loudly.

When I see a gallery with a door like this and such a picture in the window - I know where my tastes lie.

Is this the cat ?

Before going back though, I will visit the Galerie d’Excellence again and hopefully see Sabine K.’s work without artifacts.
